This luxury cruise line is offering cycling sailings around Croatia

Sail Croatia is encouraging passengers to get on their bike with a new collection of cycling cruises around the Dalmatian coast.

The luxury cruise line said demand for its bicyle-based itineraries has proven so strong that it is planning to operate 134 departures during summer 2027, compared with 95 this year.

This includes 20 departures aboard the revamped MS Princeza Diana, offering round trips across Croatia from Split. Other options include departures from Dubrovnik.

Each cruise is led by a professional cycling guide who will arrange daily rides across varied terrain. Passengers can expect journeys through multi-coloured fields of rosemary and lavender on the island of Hvar and on the lakeside trails of Mljet National Park.

Cruise fares start from £1,799 per person and include daily breakfast and lunch and a captain’s dinner evening.

Guests can choose to bring their own equipment, rent a classic bike for £179 or an e-bike for £289.

Helle Seuren from Sail Croatia said: “A report from TfL launched at the end of last year showed that in London alone, daily cycling journeys have increased by 43 per cent over the past six years.

“With so many people choosing to cycle back home, it is perhaps not surprising that holidaymakers want to explore their destination on two wheels. A cycle-themed cruise offers the perfect blend of exploration, keeping fit and the chance to relax on board and take in the stunning Croatian coastline.”

Many cruise lines offer cycling excursions, while river cruises often provide bikes to guests exploring cities.

Hebridean Island Cruises offers a seven-night “Pedal the Hebrides” cruise that visits six Scottish isles aboard the 48-guest Hebridean Princess.

Guests can follow guides to explore the white shell sands of Barra by bike as well as the stunning scenery of the Uists, the Isle of Harris and the landscapes of the Trotternish Peninsula on Skye.

Prices start from £5,904 per person and include use of bicycles, gratuities, wifi, private coach transfers between the local airport or train station and the ship or secure parking at the port.
