World’s first Wetherspoon pub crawl package launched by holiday company
The ‘Spoons Safari’ will set off on 27 June
A coach company that launched a 250-mile Wetherspoon pub crawl has sold out of tickets for the first-of-its-kind, pint-based pilgrimage.
Lloyds Coaches will operate a tour to six outposts of the bargain chain across north Wales, setting off on 27 June.
For just £20 per person, the 13-hour voyage includes luxury coach travel through the heart of north Wales and the Shropshire borders.
According to Lloyds Coaches, the “scenic Spoons Safari” is designed for “lovers of great-value real ale, historic architecture and the legendary floral carpets that define the Wetherspoon experience”.
More than 110 people are currently booked onto the tour.
The operator said: “Whether you're in it for the affordable ales, the legendary breakfasts, or just to check the carpet patterns, this is the trip for you!”
Coach one will depart Dolgellau at 9.15am, stopping at several pick up points in Tywyn, Aberdyfi and Pennal before kicking off the pub crawl at The Wilfred Owen in Oswestry at 12pm.
Ruthin’s The Castle Hotel is scheduled as the second stop, before The Picture House in Colwyn Bay and The Palladium in Llandudno.
Set in a 1920s theatre, The Palladium is a Grade II-listed building often pipped as the UK’s most impressive Spoons.
The pub crawl will then visit Tafarn y Porth in Caernarfon before a final round at Pen Cob in Pwllheli from 7.30pm.
Lloyds Coaches said: “Only passengers picked up at stops between Dolgellau and Cemmaes Road will be taken home at the end of the tour.
“If you are boarding elsewhere, it is your own responsibility to get yourselves home.”
