The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is not a monitor you casually add to your setup. It’s enormous, expensive, and demands serious desk space. But if you’ve been dreaming about a truly immersive PC gaming setup, this is about as extreme as it gets. And, right now, it’s down to $1,499 from its usual $2,099 price on Amazon, knocking a substantial $600 off one of Samsung’s flagship gaming displays.
The monitor uses a massive 57-inch 32:9 panel with a 7,680 x 2,160 resolution—essentially two 4K displays fused side by side—and the real-world effect is stunning. Racing games, flight simulators, and expansive open-world titles feel cinematic with the monitor’s 1000R curve wrapping around your field of vision. It’s also loaded with high-end specs beyond sheer size, including up to a 240Hz refresh rate, a rated 1ms response time (according to this PCMag review), and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support for smoother gameplay with compatible GPUs. And thanks to Samsung’s Quantum Matrix Mini LED technology, the contrast and black levels are also impressive for a non-OLED panel, with dark scenes in games and movies looking richer than most ultrawides.
What do you think so far?
Connectivity is solid here, with DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-A ports included. But to actually run the monitor at its full 240Hz refresh rate and native resolution, you’ll need a GPU that supports DisplayPort 2.1. Without it, you’re likely capped at 120Hz or lower. Also, running modern games at 7,680 x 2,160 with high frame rates requires an extremely powerful GPU, and not every game supports the 32:9 aspect ratio properly, so compatibility can vary. Still, for someone with the appetite for the most immersive PC gaming setup money can buy, this deal makes it considerably easier to justify.
