Final Cut Pro gets more useful AI tools

Final Cut Pro has received some of the biggest additions, including Generate Captions, which can automatically transcribe audio using on-device AI and place subtitles directly in the timeline. Edit Detection also uses on-device AI to analyze a finished video and split it back into editable clips, making it easier to rework old exports or create shorter versions for social platforms.

On Mac, Final Cut Pro is getting Auto Mask, another on-device AI feature that can identify elements such as skin, hair, sky, foliage, and clothing without manual tracking. Apple is also improving Match Color for more natural results and adding Advanced Trimming for frame-by-frame control.

Final Cut Camera is getting practical production upgrades as well. It now supports Clean HDMI Out, expanded ProRes options, and the ability to disable digital zoom so footage stays at full optical resolution.

Pixelmator Pro becomes more central

Pixelmator Pro is now more tightly integrated across Creator Studio apps. Final Cut Pro users can send a frame directly to Pixelmator Pro, edit it, and return it to the timeline. Keynote, Pages, and Numbers users can open images in Pixelmator Pro, make changes, and have those edits saved back into the document.

Apple is adding generative tools to more apps in Creator Studio. Pixelmator Pro, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform can now create vector shapes automatically. Pixelmator Pro can also generate images based on simple text prompts.

Logic Pro gets a rebuilt Chord ID system for more accurate harmonic analysis, plus a new Producer Project from Grammy-winning producer Khris Riddick-Tynes. Apple is also adding new Alchemy and Beat Breaker tools.

The updates are free for existing Apple Creator Studio subscribers. New subscribers pay $12.99 per month or $129 per year, while education pricing starts at $2.99 per month.
